How to build an AI trading desk with Grok agents
A four-agent desk built on Grok: a Volume Scanner, a News Reader with live X search, a Planner and a Skeptic.
Why four agents instead of one
One model that scans, explains, plans and judges its own plan is too sure of itself. Splitting the work gives each agent one job and one output format, and the last agent's only job is to argue against the plan. Every message is saved, so you can see exactly why a trade was taken or skipped.
01 · Volume Scanner
Reads the market data you give it (price, volume, ranges for gold, Nasdaq and oil) and flags anything unusual compared with normal levels. It never suggests a trade.
02 · News Reader
For each flag, Grok searches X and the news for a reason. It must say clearly when it finds none, and it treats social posts as research, never as proof.
03 · Planner
Turns an explained move into an entry, a target and a stop, sized to a fixed share of the account.
04 · Skeptic
Lists the three strongest reasons the plan could fail and returns BUY, WAIT or SKIP. If in doubt, it says SKIP. Code then checks the risk rules before anything reaches MT5.
What runs the trades
Not the AI. A small piece of code with a veto: stop required, maximum loss per trade and per day, automatic stop of the whole desk after a set drawdown, demo account only until you decide otherwise.
